Have you ever got up in the morning after putting on fake tan, expecting to look in the mirror and see a dreamy golden glow, but instead you resemble a… cheeto chip or bunch on shadows and lines of embarrassment?

Well, don’t freak out, because tanning legend James Read (aka the man behind the bronzed bods of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Ellie Goulding) dropped the skills of the trade when it comes to lifting and correcting fake tan failures. So, should you slip up while faking it or have a bad experience at a salon, there’s no need to worry… Whether you’ve slapped your tan on in a hurry, forgot to wash your hands or need to remove stubborn stains from dry patches try his clever disappearing tricks, for your face to your feet

1. REACH FOR LEMON JUICE

Grab a damp flannel with lemon or lime juice, then put it in the microwave for 2 minutes exactly. Check first that it’s not too hot, rub it over your tan to instantly remove the color. and there you are welcome

2. HIT THE STEAM ROOM

Another way to absorb it and remove the color is with heat is to go for a steam at the gym. After 10 minutes, wipe the area with a towel and it should rub right off easily.

3. TRY TOOTHPASTE

If you’ve got tan tides on your wrists or patchy streaks on your hands, try rubbing some toothpaste over your mitts. It has to be white toothpaste though; the bright blue or stripy formulas won’t have the same effect!

4. REACH FOR THE SHAVING FOAM

If you’ve overdone it on the tan and want to dilute the intensity or decrease the color,then try applying some shaving foam in the shower and rubbing it like its soap, which can slightly take it down and fade the tan. Perfect if you need to shave as well this way you can hit 2 birds with one stone

5. PEEL IT OFF

If you’ve made a mistake on your face, don’t freak out or make a big deal– remove your tan with Enzyme Peel Mask. Remember to take it down to your neck and leave it on for 20 minutes or as it is instructed , it will also help draw out any blackheads,  re moisturise dry areas and leave your skin tone.
